Matías Jesús Almeyda

Born December 21, 1973, in Azul, Argentina, was a former professional futbal player who represented teams such as River Plate (Argentina), Sevilla (Spain), Lazio (Italy), Parma (Italy), Internazionale (Italy), Brescia (Italy), Quilmes (Argentina), Lyn (Norway) and Fénix (Argentina).

When he stopped playing futbol, he became a very successful coach. As a coach, he won the Argentine 2nd League (2012) with River Plate; the Argentine 2nd League (2014) with Banfield; two Mexican Cup (2015, 2017), the Mexican Super Cup (2016) and the Mexican League (2017) with Guadalajara.

 Now, he is the head coach of the MLS team, San Jose Earthquakes, and the proud owner and founder of the Matias Almeyda Training Center here in Houston and is proud of what we have become as a sports facility.
